At an age when most of us would be lying sick on bed or perhaps on a pilgrimage, the 81 year old granny Marry Ho of Singapore is dedicated to rock Singapore this August with her guitar skills. For Marry age just seems to be a mere number. She started learning guitar at an age of 60.
“I bought an acoustic guitar at 60 and learned playing on her own. It was very difficult for me as i didn’t know how to read tabs, notes and all that. At first i couldn’t even play because my hands would not let me.” says Marry. What started as leisurely strumming soon developed into electric lead guitar solo playing. Inspired by Carlos Santana and BB King Marry Mary’s love for the guitar drove her on. The grandmother of 7 grand children went from zero to a guitar hero. She is a living example of the saying that it is never to late to learn anything.
