Urban Youth for Rural Children (UYRC) is an emerging youth led organization, established in 2014 by 13 energetic youths from the social work background, to support the children of three schools in Madi, Chitwan. UYRC is a totally non- profit organization even they have not any donor to help and support them. That’s the reason, they are organized the different fund raised event in the different places.

The fund raised from the event transparently goes to the schools to keep continuing “School Nutrition Program (SNP).” SNP is one of the most effective programs of UYRC which came in run after running an assessment to study conditions of schools in Madi, Chitwan. From UYRC observation they came to know that, most of the children cannot afford to bring their lunch box at school.

Based on the interaction will schools and locals there is the lack of nutrition and it has direct effect on their academic performance.Therefore, from this SNP program UYRC team provide Mid-Day meal to the children studying in three of the schools in the locality. Currently, 350 students are getting nutrition meal through SNP. UYRC organized event to fund raise. Last year, UYRC team had organized fund raising event called “Colors for Change” in collaboration with YUWA. It was very successful event to them.

Now, they are organizing another event titled “Musical Friday”. Obviously, the fund raised from this event will be used to support underprivileged students of Madi, Chitwan. This “Musical Friday” event is filled with various bands performing with different genres even Open mic sessions, Barbeque, Game stalls, Bike Showcase and many more.
This event is supported by, Around the corner Cafe, Hills to Himalayas and Thames International college. And the best bands “The Gentlemen”, “The Fusion House” and “Kanonvault” will be performing in “Musical Friday” on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Around the Corner Café, Bansbari.
