Kathmandu- When selling his peanuts, West Bengali street vendor Bhuban Badyakar would sing “Kacha Badam,” which quickly became a hit on the internet. A social media user posted his video online, whereupon he rose to fame. The song, which went popular in Bangladesh and India, received millions of views on YouTube.
Bhuban, however, is currently trying to make ends meet, and according to media sources, he is unable to even perform the song that first made him famous online because of copyright difficulties.
He stated: “I pay a large sum of money in rent each month to live in a rented home in Dubrajpur. In addition, there is no money, and I’m unsure of how long things will continue this way.”
