kathmandu-After two years break, Radio Kantipur hosted the National Music Award 2078 at Hotel Yak and Yeti on Friday.
There was 75 nominees for this years award and 15 different award categories. There was life time achievement award too. The award function started with an auspicious performance by singer Ram Krishna Dhakal, Yam Baral and Lochan Bhattrai.
The winners of the National Music Award 2078 are as follows: Ankit Amur Shrestha for his song ‘Lazayera’ on category of new singer, Ananda Adhikari for his song ‘ Maya Jadau’ on category of best lyricist, Arjun Pokhrel as a best music director of the year for song ‘Timro Ghar Ko Waripari’, Pashupati Sharma as best singer folk- male for his song ‘Hajuraile ho’, Mechu Dhimal as the best singer folk- female for her song ‘Fasayo Mitho Bolile’,Umesh Lamsal got awarded for the best National song ‘Kohi Bhanchan Mechi Mero’,Ram Krishna Dhakal as the best playback male singer for his song ‘Maya Jadau’,Milan amatya as the best playback female singer for her song ‘Charile Kafal’, Almoda Rana Upreti got awarded the best pop- singer male for his song kahile vetne, Aastha Tamang Maskey got awarded as the best pop-singer female for her song ‘ Saregamapa’, Karma band got titled as the best band for their song ‘Manko Ghanti’, in the category of best singer adhunik male Shiva Pariyar got awarded for his song ‘ Atalincha Mann’, in the category of best singer adhunik female Sangita Rana Pradhan for her song ‘Maya k ko tirsana’, Melina Rai and Bal Bahadur Rajbanshi got awarded for their song ‘Je Pani Sahula’ as the best duet song, Nishan Bhattrai and Eleena Chauhan for people choice award 2078. Similarly, Kumar Basnet received a life time achievement award for his 7 years long achievement and dedication in Nepali Music Industry.
