Charlie Puth Drops New Song “That’s Hilarious” and It’s No Joke
That’s Hilarious” takes Puth back to the feelings of betrayal he felt after a bad breakup. JKash, a longstanding collaborator of Puth’s, assisted in the production of the song. “I’m really happy for the song to come out,” he said in a statement, “but every time I hear it, I’m kind of pulled back to a moment in my life that was really, really tough.” “I never told anyone about what happened to me and the sorrow I felt through the worst split of my life in 2019… I just wanted to sweep it under the rug and begin again, surrounded by better people. But this is the most difficult tune I’ve ever had to compose.
That’s Hilarious” is the second single from Charlie Puth’s next album, which will be released later this year. “I’ve never had the opportunity to release music that is entirely myself, and every song on this album has my personality with some melody tied to it,” Puth said of CHARLIE in a statement.
Puth’s previous single, “Light Switch,” was released in January 2022. Puth was inspired to produce “Light Switch” after a TikTok soundbite received a huge amount of good feedback. Puth will be on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on April 13 to perform “Light Switch” at the iHeartRadio Awards.
