Piyush Shakya(Le’Ridge Stereo) from Kathmandu has been selected as finalist and semi-finalist of two International songwriting competitions. His first release ‘Another Sun’ which was released last August made it to the 10% out of over 2100 global song submissions from 160+ countries in International songwriting competition. The song was written by Piyush and his duet partner Rebecca Shrestha. The song was produced by Diwas Gurung. Unfortunately, the song wasn’t able to make it to the finals of the competition.
Similarly, he also appeared as a finalist of another international songwriting competition i.e. ‘The John Lennon Songwriting Contest.’ He appeared as a finalist along with other 14 contestants from other different countries. But he couldn’t make it to the winning position of the competition.
This can be considered as an achievement of a Nepali musical artist and we are very delighted about this. We wish Piyush all the best for his future and want his continuation in song writing.
