Abhaya Subba Weise, the name itself is enough. Rather fierce women in the music realm always breaking a stereotype, always one step ahead in the group when it comes to speaking for women in any field or uplifting them.
Likewise, Subba is the founder of both The Nirbhya Foundation and The Women in concert Foundation. Their main motive is to use the medium of music and performance to promote gender equality, an end to violence against women, and women’s rights since 2014.
Along with all the other goodwill, Subba has been conducting “Women In Concert“, the concert where the women from all parts of Nepal get together and compete or perform. This has helped uplift many-many girls who were lost somewhere in the corner unknowing what they are capable of, to whom Subba always has been a mentor a mom. Always so grateful for what she does for women.
The concert was held annually, but due to pandemics, it was postponed for whole 2 years. But this year on the occasion of women’s day, The Nirbhaya Foundation conducted “Women In Concert” with a bang. It was held in Club Platinum where a number of fierce women like Abhaya of course, Kengal Mehar Shrestha, Ashra Kunwar, Subheksha Rai Koirala, Sajja Chaulagain, Jasmin, Megha Shrestha were seen performing. The whole program was hosted by another strong personality (My personal favorite) Subba.
