David Ellefson, a founding bassist of American thrash metal band “Megadeth” is officially fired from the band, announced on Monday. “We are informing our fans that David Ellefson is no longer playing with Megadeth and that we are officially parting ways with him,” band founder Dave Mustaine said in a statement. Ellefson was accused of grooming an underaged fan online. His private videos of sexually touching himself, masturbating and ejaculating has surfaced online two weeks ago.

“We are aware of the recent statements regarding David Ellefson, and are watching developments closely,” the band said. As it relates to creativity and business, we are all familiar with one another. However, there are clearly aspects of David’s private life that he has kept to himself. As this situation unfolds, all voices must be heard clearly and respectfully. We look forward to the truth coming to light.

Ellefson has completely denied allegations on his Instagram account. He also shared a statement from the woman in the messages where she was denying herself as underaged. She said that she was always a consenting adult and in the end, it was all consensual and all online.

Ellefson, 56, co-founded the band in 1983 with guitarist Dave Mustaine and remained until they split in 2002. He rejoined the band again in 2010. Ellefson is also married to his wife ‘Julie’ for 27 years and has 2 children.
