Metallica is set to bring a recorded concert to fans, which will air at drive-in theaters throughout the United States and Canada. Screening a full set at drive-ins and outdoor theaters in the U.S. and Canada on August 29th.
The band took to social media on Monday to announce the news: “We’re bringing the Metallica live experience to a drive-in theater near you on August 29 with a concert filmed for the big screen, presented by @encoredrivein,”
According to a release, a new concert will be shot near the band’s home of Northern California for August 29th. It will be the band’s first show in almost a year, will also feature Three Days Grace as the opening act. In addition, the concert will show material from their nearly 40-year career. As with other recent drive-in shows, staff will wear appropriate PPE and cars will be stationed six feet apart in light of COVID-19. Tickets and payments will be contactless.
