Katy Perry has announced her fifth album ‘Smile’. She has also shared the title track from the album. According to her, she wrote the title track while battling one of the darkest periods of her life.

“I wrote the title track from the album when I was coming through one of the darkest periods of my life and had lost my smile.”, Katy Perry posted on Instagram.

“This whole album is my journey towards the light – with stories of resilience, hope, and love.”, she added for the album.

Moreover, this album will feature her previously released singles from the past few months, ‘Daisies’, ‘Harleys In Hawaii’ and ‘Never Really Over’. This new album is set to be released on August 14. Her last studio album was ‘Witness’ which she released in 2017.

Katy Perry had promised that she would put out a record this year during the release of ‘Daisies’.

“I’m going to put out a record this year, quarantined or not, because we ain’t gonna let no coronavirus stop us from dancing, even if we’re dancing in our homes.”
