The 30th GLAAD Media Awards is the 2019 annual presentation of the GLAAD Media Awards, presented by GLAAD honoring the 2018 media season. The awards honor films, television shows, musicians and works of journalism that fairly, accurately and inclusively represent the LGBT community and issues relevant to the community.
The 30th GLAAD Media Awards was recently held on May 4, Saturday at the Hilton Midtown in New York. The event was hosted by drag star Shangela and presenters included Sarah Jessica Parker, Anderson Cooper, Rosie O’Donnell, Mykki Blanco, Adam Rippon, and Lilly Singh. Madonna and Janelle Monae were among the music stars awarded at the 30th annual GLAAD Media Awards. She delivered a rousing speech after receiving the award that went from playful to emotional, bringing the audience to its feet.
Madonna received the Advocate for Change Award and Monáe took home outstanding music artist. On March 28, GLAAD honored Beyonce and JAY-Z with the Vanguard Award in Los Angeles.
