Formed in 1986 by lead vocalist Billi Joe Armstrong and bassist Mike Dirnt Green Day is an American punk rock band. It is trio band with Bill on lead vocals, Mike Dirnt on Bass and Tre Cool on the drums on the current line up and remained a trio band for much of its span. The band got a break through their major label debut, Dookie. Songs like long view, basket case, when i come around made Dookie a commercial success. Having won five grammy awards till date the band was inducted to the Rock and Roll Hall of fame in 2015 and have been able to sold more than 85 million records worldwide.
