The NEPCO Entertainment Music Awards 2080′ recently concluded with great success.
Hosted by Nepco Entertainment Pvt Ltd, the event celebrated Nepali music across 17 categories. It was the first time the event was held in the capital city, aiming to honor outstanding achievements in Nepali music. Under the theme ‘Respect of Nepali Song Sangeet Karma’, the ceremony brought together industry professionals, musicians, and fans.
Singer Harigopal Pradhan won the ‘Best National Emotion Award’ for the song Chandra Surya, Surya Bahadur Magar of Surya Creations Pvt. Ltd. won the ‘Best Music Producer Award’. Singer Savina budha Magar won the ‘Best Festival Song Award’ for the song ‘Dasain Tihar Aaunda‘. Singer Dhan Bahadur Damai (Deepak Lakhe) received the ‘Best Award’ for ‘Dhaasi Poorveli Terse Bhaka’
Janaki Thapa Magar won the ‘Best Custom Designer Award’, Netra Bhandari won the ‘Best Singer Award’ through the folk song ‘Jhari’. Lakshmi Regmi won the ‘Best Singer Award’ for the song Khukuri Rum, Rom Bahadur Shrestha won the ‘Best New Singer Award’ for ‘Oi Saili’ and Spesh Lamichhane won the ‘Best New Model Award’ for ‘Bhok’.
Kamala Pokharel won the ‘Public Choice Award’ for female vocalists with the song ‘Chari Basaima‘, while Deep Sagar Thapa won the ‘Public Choice Award’ for male vocalists . Similarly, Kalyan Singh won the ‘Best Music Award’, Drasav Khanal won the ‘Jury Award’ for male models in modern songs titled ‘Shailung’, Niraj Kumar won the ‘Best Music Award’ for ‘Thaha Chhaina’, and Smarika Dhakal won the ‘Best Female Model Award’ for the movie ‘Dhokebaaz 2’.
On the live dual stage, Prakash Dutaraj won the ‘Best Singer Award’ for the song ‘Mali Gailee’, Jagat Bahadur Gharti won the ‘Best Live Dual Singer Award’ for the song ‘Tamang Khola’, Yogesh Pan won the ‘Best Pop Singer Award’ for the song ‘Khuching Khuching’, and Shakti Chand won the ‘Best Word Award’ for Bheri and Karnali folk songs.
Similarly, Shivam Pokharel won the ‘Best Male Model Award’ for the song ‘Kyari Hasam Khai’, Kushum Sharma won the ‘Best Female Model Award’ for the song ‘Sakambhari’, Vasanta Raj Gautam won the ‘Best Jury Award’ for the folk song ‘Hundai Naki Hamro Bhet’, and Ganesh Kunwar won the Jury Award for the song ‘Badal Pari’.
Singer Padam Rai won the ‘Best Male Singer Award’ for the song ‘Sarkari Adda’, Anand Singh won the ‘Public Choice Award’ for the song ‘Timi Bina’, Suvas Shrestha won the ‘Public Choice Award’ for the song ‘Motorcycle’, Milan Moktan won the ‘Best Word Compiler Award’ for the song ‘Anayasai Andhi Chalyo’, and Niroj Kumar won the ‘Jury Award’ for the song ‘Jharnako Chiso Pani’, while Yuvaraj Chhantyal won the ‘Public Choice Award’ for the song ‘Gaaunko Maya’, Dhruv Khanal won the ‘Public Choice Award’ for the song ‘Manaima Basne’.
Dr. Bholanath Rijal received the ‘National Creator Award’, Dinesh Moktan received the ‘National Business Award’, Isha Lohagun Kaushal received the ‘Sound Award’, Roshani Rasaili received the ‘Gratitude Award’, Sanjiv Burma Sakha received the ‘IT Award’, journalist Umesh Vikal received the ‘Journalism Award’, Raj Karki received the ‘National Business Award’, Purna Bahadur Khatri received the ‘National Art Award’, Ishwar Jee received the ‘National Creator Award’, Khadga Veer Rawat, Mukesh Kumar Chaudhary, Tul Bahadur Thapa, Ashik Lama, and Keshav Raj Pandey received the ‘National Business Award’, and Nepal Airlines received the ‘Thank You Letter with Honor’.
Performances ranged from traditional folk to modern hits, showcasing Nepal’s diverse musical culture. Winners were chosen based on talent, skill, and cultural impact. The event ended with gratitude to participants and sponsors, promising to support Nepali music’s growth in the future.
