The Midnight Riders is a rock band based in Kathmandu, was formed in June 21, 2008. The band starting from their early days of playing hard rock and metal, mellowing into classic rock and blues, they have skipped across all genres in between and beyond — from 80’s New Wave pop to Hair Metal to Grunge. They have absorbed licks and tricks from right across the history of rock n roll music. TMR is a band which cannot be put into a single generic category.
The band has played their first ever show on International Music Day, June 21st, 2008. The band started as a music project with its members coming from different local bands and genres. It was the brainchild of Deep Sumsher Rana who put together an ensemble of local musicians to create this outfit where all genre of music was treated equally. He has known as the Guitarist, Synthesizers and Vocalist of the band.
The band then evolved with time and a few changes in the lineup to reach where it is today. With Deep leaving TMR because of his professional commitments, the band took on a new path of creating its own music.

After a decade of playing hundreds of shows together, TMR released its first single “Bachna Deu Malai” on October 17, 2015. The song was well received by the audience which prompted the band to continue making more originals and finally “Yaatra” was released on last March. The album itself can be described as a collection of songs which comprise many different sub genres of rock music.
