Kathmandu-Beyoncé sang “River Deep, Mountain High” by Ike & Tina Turner at a performance in London as an homage to her late hero Tina Turner.
Beyoncé pays tribute to Tina Turner here, little over a week after learning that the late music legend had passed away quietly at home on May 24 at the age of 83. Turner was a major source of inspiration for Beyoncé.
On May 26, in Paris, she again paid respect to Turner by addressing the audience: “I just want to take a second and honor Tina Turner. If you like my music, you probably also like Tina Turner. I need you all to simply shout so Tina Turner can hear your love because without her, I wouldn’t be on this platform. I’m so grateful that I got to see her genius in action.
