Kathmandu- Strong, who died on Sunday, Jan. 29, at the age of 81 in Detroit, co-wrote a number of Motown’s most popular songs, mostly with the late Norman Whitfield. The Temptations’ “I Wish It Would Rain,” “Just My Imagination,” “Cloud Nine,” “Psychedelic Shack,” and “Papa Was a Rolling Stone,” for which Strong shared a Grammy Award, were among them.
Edwin Starr’s “War” and Marvin Gaye’s “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” and Gladys Knight & the Pips’ “I Heard It Through the Grapevine” were also among them.
