Since their origin in 1994, 1974 AD has been known for songs that brought Nepalese together. The band has been able to set a benchmark in introducing Nepal to blues, rock, funk, reggae, and jazz, but with unquestionable Nepali flavor.
Most of their albums are ranked among the top-ten best-selling albums according to Hits FM of Nepal. In 2000, their concert, ‘Rock Yatra,’ was watched by more than 60,000 people, the largest attendance for a concert in Nepal. And the energy still is the same, so get ready for the blast.
“Manose Singh”, exactly born to be flautist is master in what he does and have been doing since he was just 8 years old. He held the bamboo flute when he was 8 and hasn’t stopped till now. His dedication towards it was so strong that he was already playing for huge musical groups when he just was 15 yrs old. At the age of 16 he was named as Nepal’s “Instrumentalist of the Year”. Till now he has released 5 solo albums.
He was the first nepalese musician to be nominated for the prestigious Grammy Award ‘Best New Age Album of The Year’ under Contemporary Instrumental Music Category from his contribution track on the album ‘Deva’. which he produced in collaboration with German musician Deva Premal and England’s Miten. He also was the former member of the legendary band “1974 AD”. We can hear him play in the few popular song from the band like “Pinjadako Suga” and “Samjhi Baschu”.
