Today marks the 3 decades of Nepathaya, one of the most loved Nepali band has completed its 30 years on Nepal music.

Three students from Pokhara came to Kathmandu for further studies in the early 1990s. Deepak Rana (now a chopper pilot), Bhim Pun (now based in Hong Kong), and Amrit Gurung began playing music together while studying in Kathmandu and released their first album, the self-titled Nepathya, on April 1, 1992. The band regards the date as Nepathya’s birthday. Nepathya is best known for her ability to blend folk melodies with modern western-influenced rock music. Amrit Gurung, a Pokhara native and the only current active founding member of the band as a lead vocalist, is the driving force behind this band. On August 3, 2013, Nepathya became the first Nepalese band to perform at Wembley Arena in the United Kingdom.

Nepathya is best known for their ability to blend folk melodies with modern western-influenced rock music. Nepathya has achieved commercial and critical acclaim. Nepathya is well-known for contemporary tunes with strong ties to indigenous music, as well as songs sung in rural Nepalese dialects.
Happy Birthday to Nepathaya once again!! We as an audience are very grateful to Nepathaya for their contribution in Nepali music. Kudos to their efforts and huge respect and love to their creation!!
