Nepal Idol is the first-ever and yet greatest platform that was introduced in Nepal which allows people with amazing voices showoff their talents. Not only that they get nationally appreciated, ranked, and awarded for it.
While being part of the Idols franchise which is held all over the world, it has helped a lot of dreamers achieve their dream of stardom on music. To not only the winners, but the particular reality show has also opened the door of a dream for all the other contestants. They have had failed to bag the title but did not fail to accomplish their dreams. While some are just lost in thin air as the show ended.
Relating to the topic, let’s recall the contestant and all the detail from previous seasons as today was farewell to the ongoing season, season 4 with Bhupendra Thapa Magar Bagging the title, as Namgyel Tamang and Ranjeet Nepali were announced as 1st and 2nd runner up respectively.
Nepal Idol Season 1 (2017)
Buddha Lama was the winner of the first season of Nepal Idol which started officially back in 2017 for the first time in Nepal. The judges were Nhyoo Bajracharya, Indira Joshi, and Kali Prasad Baskota and the show was hosted by Sushil Nepal and Reema Bishwokarma.
Being a overly versatile singer among all and having a rather charming personality Buddha Lama had gathered immense love which lead making him the winner of the show. He is still active in Music world releasing the new singles and duet with several artists now and then.
Nishan Bhattarai and Pratap Das was the 1st and 2nd runner up from the season respectively who too are equally active between fans.
Sagar Ale Magar, Suraj Tamang, Kenjal Mehar Shrestha are few of the contestant who are still spreading the magic of their talents. Tho they got eliminated, they are still or maybe even moire recognized and loved than the title holders.
Nepal Idol Season 2 (2018)
Ravi Oad, overly popular for folk genre was the winner of Nepal Idol season 2. The judges at that time were Nhyoo Bajracharya, Indira Joshi and Kali Prasad Baskota and the show was hosted by Aasif Shah and Reema Bishwokarma.
Oad has just released his new single “Sodhera Hera”, which proves he has utilized the stardom very wisely. Oad has sung a number of songs among which Dui Kaudiko Buddhi, Gharma Kura, Chaubandima Sajiyeki, Ujad Yo, Sani are his quite loved ones.
Ashmita Adhikari was the name on season 2 which was quite popular too. Tho, she got eliminated she is busy releasing many songs and attending several concerts and programmes. Her cover for the song “Timro Mayale” has over 18M views on YouTube.
Nepal Idol Season 3 (2020)
Nepal Idol Season 3 was kind of refreshment for us Auditions. As all over country was under the pressure of covid, It had become the healing agent as we could forgot all the troubles even if it was for few hours. Sajja Chaulagain a very fierce yet talented contestant and first ever female title holder from Morang was mine personal favorite. as she nailed every performance all over the season. She still is rocking the music field with her never ending energy.
We can proudly say that she is the most active title holder till date. She recently was involved in the collaboration musical events with a gang of musicians and legendary band like Kutumba. She also was one of the performer in Nirbhaya’s Womens In Concerts which was held on the occasion of Womens Day 2022.
Pravin Bedwal and Kiran K Bhujel were the 1st and 2nd runner up for the season respectively, who are not so much active recently. While Rachana Rimal, top 8 contestant who sadly got eliminated is so loved and popular till now and she is going a long way we can tell.
