The Axe band is one of the established bands of Nepal. Being one of the oldest bands of Nepal the band has been able to rule the hearts of many youths. Lukna Deu, Chyangba Dai, Timro Nazar Le, Dekhe Timlai are some of the hit songs by the band. The band has released six albums till date. Dhunwa (Released in 1993 AD) , Farkera Herda (Released in 1995 AD), Majhi Dai (Released in 2000 AD), A Decade (Released in 2002 AD) , The Very Best of AXE (Released in 2003 AD) , Kamasaka (Released in 2006 AD).
Highly popular among youths, the band started in the year 1992. The band was offcially registered in 1993. Initially “the axe’ started as a four member band with Shiva Mukhiya (Vocals), Sarad Shrestha (lead guitarist), Ramesh Gyawali (bass) and Surendra Shrestha (drums). However, later its member were reduced to three after Ramesh left the band. Currently the band has three members Shiva Mukhiya(Vocals and Bass), Surendra Shrestha(Drums) with Sajal Bhandari replacing Sharad Shrestha.
