Season 3 of the singing reality show Nepal Idol was resumed on Thursday. The wild-card entry winner Kiran K. Bhujel was announced on the show. Nepal Idol airs two days a week of which Friday is the performance day and Thursday is the elimination.

Currently, the contestants left in the show are Kevin Glan Tamang, Neshan Pun Magar, Prabin Bedwal, Sajja Chaulagain and Kiran K. Bhujel.

The performances of the episode of Friday i.e. episode 30 started with the rocking performance of Neshan Pun Magar with the song “Chyangba and The Bloody Revolution” by 1974 AD. All of the judges praised the improvement done by him in singing.

Secondly, the only female contestant left, Sajja Chaulagain, sang the song “Banda Aakha” by The Edge Band. Chaulagain was in the danger zone in the last elimination episode. The judge Indira Joshi complimented the high-note singing of the contestant.

Subsequently, Kiran K Bhujel, the wild-card winner, enchanted the stage with the song “Dekha Na Champa” by singers Krishna Kafle and Deepa Shree Niroula from the movie Chhakka Panja. All of the judges applauded the performance with standing ovations, although nothing specific technical reasons were stated other than he sang well.

After Bhujel’s performance, another versatile contestant Prabin Bedwal performed “Kina Pheri Maya Samjhi” originally sung by Bhajan Shiromani Bhakta Raj Acharya from the movie Bhagya Rekha. Bedwal has a strong grasp in the modern or semi-classical music scene as evident from his previous performances. Although his previous performance of “Timro Jasto Mutu” was outstanding, the current song didn’t quite meet the expectations as he couldn’t properly hold in the low notes.

Finally, probably another powerful contestant Kevin Glan Tamang ended the series of the performances with the song “Mari Jau” by Bikki Gurung. Besides the good performance of Tamang, the music provided by the band was praiseworthy too. About the judges, the judges couldn’t get a moment of awe as expected from the quality participant.

The “Uplifting Performance of The Day” and “Glamor Moment of The Day” awards for the day went to Kiran K. Bhujel and Sajja Chaulagain respectively.
