For the members of the heavy metal band Slipknot, who have worn all kinds of headgear in spite of the heat and humidity, it is nothing new to wear a mask in public during this coronavirus pandemic crisis. They have years of experience in covering their heads in latex, leather and plastic.
As dangerous it is to walk without a mask in public, Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor has offered some advice to wearing a mask. Taylor told Spin: “The main thing is to find a mask that fits”. He added: “I know a lot of people complain about it, like, hurting their ears and s**t, but that’s because your mask is too small. Or your head’s too big. Whichever is the case, I’m not too sure. But think about it this way: you’re talking about a few moments of discomfort against the possibility of being dead. It sells itself.”
Similarly, drummer Jay Weinberg in a conversation with The Metal Circus TV, mentioned that wearing a mask is “not fun, it’s not enjoyable, it’s not any of those things, but it is necessary, for sure.” even for Slipknot.
“But suck it up, man,” Taylor said. “Put on a f***ing mask and help people. If you want things to get back to normal, do things the right way.”
