ABBA’s Björn Ulvaeus revealed last year that they were preparing something special for 2020 which was the release of 2 track on their reunion. Because of the coronavirus pandemic, they had to reschedule their reunion to the next year. However, the band promised to release 5 albums in 2021.
“I got to spend an hour with Björn Ulvaeus from ABBA via Zoom. He’s quarantining – he’s got an island in the Stockholm archipelago.”, said Geoff Lloyd, co-host of the Reasons To Be Cheerful podcast. He added: “They’ve recorded five new songs. They should have been out at the end of last year. Because of technical difficulties and the pandemic, it’s delayed things. But he promised me that the new ABBA music will be out in 2021.”
ABBA is a Swedish quartet consisting of Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, Anni-Frid Lyngstad and Agnetha Fältskog. They quickly moved to international fame after winning the Eurovision Song Contest with the track “Waterloo” in 1974. During their culmination, the band consisted of two married couples, but both relationships fell through during their time as a group.
ABBA’s last studio album was released in 1982. Likewise, in 1993 and 1994, their three unreleased songs were made public.
