A major fire broke out at the residence of singer Rajesh Payal Rai in Shantinagar, Kathmandu around 3 PM on Tuesday, 18th September. However, no one was injured in the scene. The fire was brought in control by the fire fighters and police official. The fire is thought to have occured due to a short circuit.
Most of his properties and precious awards and certificates have been destroyed by the fire. Rajesh is currently abroad for his musical tour and expresses his bereavement through social media with an partially burnt picture with the legendary actor Rajesh Hamal :

“गल्ती ,कमी कमजोरी मान्छे बाट हुन्छ भन्थे भगवान बाट नि हुदो रहेछ ,उनैले दिए उनैले लगे अब उनैले दिनेछन एक दिन फेरी गल्ती नगरिकन !!
