Funeral Hymns are a customary piece of memorial service benefits crosswise over a wide range of groups of Christianity. Most Christian memorial services in the UK incorporate a couple of psalms, contingent upon the length of the burial service.
However, now in 2019 traditional hymns are no longer the requested psalms in funerals as new research has revealed that not a single one made this year’s top 10 most popular list.
When it was first compiled in 2016, the list featured hymns such as “The Lord Is My Shepar”, “All Things Bright and Beautiful”, and “Abide With Me”.
However, for 2019 all three are replaced with modern day pop songs like “Supermarket Flowers” by Ed Sheeran and Westlife’s “You Raise Me Up” which both made their debut. Among the top ten list of Funeral songs in UK “My Way” by Frank Sinatra stays at number one, followed by “Time to Say Goodbye” by Andrea Bocelli and Sarah Brightman, and “Somewhere over the Rainbow” by Eva Cassidy. Apart from these, three songs have made new entry in the top ten funeral songs’ list.
